Project Overview

From Zero Fume Control to a Full Source Capture System

Pro-Fit's facility in Ste-Agathe-Des-Monts had been welding without any fume extraction system in place. After multiple consultative site visits to evaluate options and understand the client's needs, a solution was identified and secured: seven KUA source capture arms paired with FlexMax units and a TEV fan, installed by Go 2 Industrial. The result is a purpose-built system that directly targets fumes at the source across every welding station.

Challenge & Solution

No System in Place —
Seven Stations to Protect

The Challenge

Welding Without Any Fume Extraction

Prior to this installation, Pro-Fit had no fume reduction or capture system of any kind. Welders were exposed to fumes on every shift with no mitigation in place. The client needed a reliable, scalable solution that could be fitted across multiple welding stations without disrupting their operation.

Our Solution

7× KUA Arms with FlexMax & TEV Fan

Following several site visits and in-depth discussions, seven KUA source capture arms — each paired with a FlexMax unit — were selected as the ideal fit. A single TEV fan powers the full system, delivering targeted fume capture directly at each welding station with minimal footprint and maximum flexibility.

How the Project Unfolded

Pre-
Install

Multiple Site Visits & Consultation

Several visits were made to Pro-Fit's facility to assess the welding environment, understand workflow requirements, and work through the best fume extraction approach. Through these discussions, the seven-arm KUA configuration was identified as the right fit.

Installation Completed by Go 2 Industrial

Go 2 Industrial completed the full installation at end of August, fitting all seven KUA arms with FlexMax units and commissioning the TEV fan. The facility had no prior system, making this a complete greenfield deployment.

Install

Motor Noise Issue Identified & Resolved

Following installation, the motor was found to be producing excessive noise due to incorrect wiring. The issue was diagnosed promptly and corrected right away, restoring normal operation without further disruption.

System Running Well — One Arm Pending Review

As of March, the system has been operating without issue. One arm has sustained damage and is currently under review to determine next steps; a spare part purchase is likely as the damage falls outside of warranty coverage.

Challenges & Resolution

Handling the Unexpected

Two post-installation issues arose — both were addressed swiftly and transparently to keep the system running and the client informed.

Motor Wiring Issue

The TEV fan motor was wired incorrectly, causing excessive noise after commissioning. The fault was quickly identified and corrected on-site, restoring normal operation with no lasting impact.

Damaged Arm — Under Review

One KUA arm sustained physical damage during operation. The situation is being assessed with the client; as the damage is not covered under warranty, a spare part purchase is the expected resolution.

Transparent Client Communication

Throughout both issues, the client was kept informed at every step. Open communication between Plymovent, Go 2 Industrial, and Pro-Fit ensured no surprises and maintained trust in the partnership.

"
The client was very satisfied with the service that Plymovent and Go 2 Industrial provided. Everything has been working out just fine — and any issues that came up were resolved right away.

Outcome

Seven Stations Protected,
Welders Breathing Cleaner Air

Pro-Fit went from having no fume extraction whatsoever to a fully operational seven-arm source capture system. Since installation, the system has been running reliably and the client has expressed strong satisfaction with both the product performance and the service delivered by Plymovent and Go 2 Industrial.

A minor wiring issue was resolved promptly after commissioning, and the system has been trouble-free since. One arm is currently under review following physical damage — next steps are being coordinated with the client.

Multiple consultative site visits were key to securing this project. Taking the time to understand the client's specific welding environment led directly to a system that fits their needs and a customer who is fully satisfied with the outcome.
